Brown Bag Lunch Wednesday Features Concert Selections

MACOMB, IL – Students and faculty from Western Illinois University's College of Fine Arts and Communication (COFAC) will perform at two upcoming brown bag lunch concerts, the first begins at noon Wednesday, Oct. 22 in the Sherman Hall third floor auditorium.

The Oct. 22 concert, which is open to WIU students, faculty and staff and Macomb community members, will feature selections from the McMurdie Scholarship Concert. The McMurdie performance will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26 in the Horrabin Hall Theatre. The brown bag and the concert will feature students from WIU's bachelor of fine arts program from the Department of Theatre and Dance. The program is directed by music Professor Matt Bean.

Musical selections include:

• I Could Fall • This Thing Called Love - Alex Watson / Kellie Nolan
• Watch Me Soar • Scott Alan - Jimmy Capek
• Journey to the Past • Anastasia - Samantha Tucker
• The Night That Goldman Spoke • Ragtime - Lexi Holtzer / Tyler Breeding
• I've Been • Next to Normal - Khyel Roberson
• The Wizard and I • Wicked - Sarah Randall
• Welcome to the World • A Man of No Importance - Jason Coppenbarger
• Twenty Million People • My Favorite Year - Seniors in the BFA Program

Bottled water will be provided by the WIU Foundation. Individuals are welcome to bring their lunches and the show is open free to the public.

The next performance will be at noon Wednesday, Dec. 3 and will feature The Camerata Woodwind Quintet, WIU's professional chamber music ensemble in residence since 1966. Performers include Assistant Professor John McMurtery, on flute; Professor Michael Ericson, on oboe; Professor Eric Ginsberg, on clarinet; Professor Douglas Huff, on bassoon, and Professor Randall Faust, on horn.
