MACOMB, IL -- Services for retired Western Illinois University Office of Public Safety Secretary Carol Jean Horrell, 77, of Macomb, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 23 at Dodsworth Piper Wallen Funeral Home of Macomb. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday Oct. 22 at the funeral home. Horrell passed away at Oct. 17 in Macomb.
Horrell began working at WIU in June 1973, first in International Programs and University Housing. She began working at OPS in 1974, where she remained until retiring in 1996.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas; daughter, Jackie Powell; two sons, Steve and William; several grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and three sisters.
