WIU Mourns Students' Deaths

MACOMB, IL -- The Western Illinois University community is saddened to learn of the deaths of students Cedric Huffman, a WIU senior, of Macomb, and Gabrielle Yocum, a WIU junior, of Springfield, who died early this morning (Oct. 16) as a result of an automobile accident in rural Macomb.
Huffman, 23, was pursuing a bachelor's degree in agriculture. Yocum, 21, was pursuing a bachelor's degree in nursing.
"We extend our deepest sympathies to Cedric's and Gabrielle's families, friends and classmates," said Western Illinois University President Jack Thomas.
Arrangements are pending.
