President's Town Hall Meetings Set for Students, Faculty, Staff, Macomb Community

MACOMB, IL -- Western Illinois University President Jack Thomas will host a series of town hall meetings this month to give WIU students, faculty and staff, and members of the Macomb community, the opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback regarding University operations, programs and more.

Thomas will open each meeting with an update on the many initiatives currently underway, and the challenges facing Western. He will then open the floor for open dialogue and questions. Members of the president's leadership team will also be present to answer questions (Provost Ken Hawkinson, Vice President for Advancement and Public Services Brad Bainter, Vice President for Student Services Gary Biller, Vice President for Administrative Services Julie DeWees, Vice President for Quad Cities and Planning Joe Rives and Budget Director Matt Bierman).

The town hall meetings for students will be held:

Monday, Oct. 13 - 7 p.m., Thompson Hall

Tuesday, Oct. 14 - 7 p.m., Tanner Hall

Monday, Oct. 27 - 7 p.m., Corbin/Olson halls

A town hall meeting for students and community members will be held to address economic development:

Tuesday, Oct. 28 - 6 p.m., University Union Heritage Room. Macomb Mayor Mike Inman will also be present to answer questions.

The town hall meetings for faculty, staff, and community members will be held to address economic development:

Wednesday, Oct. 29 - 3:30 p.m. University Union Grand Ballroom. Macomb Mayor Mike Inman will also be present to answer questions.
