MACOMB, IL – For the sixth year, beer aficionados will gather at The Forum Saturday, Sept. 27 for the Performing Arts Society's (PAS) annual Macomb Beerfest celebration.

The annual beer tasting event runs from 1-7 p.m. and will feature more than 70 specialty brews from around the world. There will also be new tables featuring sour and barrel-aged beers and meads, and souvenir glasses will be available while supplies last. Jimmy Johns will provide sandwiches while they last.

This year's special release sampling list includes:

• Duchesse de Bourgogne (Brouwerij Verhaeghe)
• Founders Kentucky Breakfast Stout
• New Holland Incorrigible
• Stone 18th Anniversary Ale
• Left Hand Wake Up the Dead Stout

Beerfest admission for WIU students is $5 in advance and $6 at the door. Public admission is $10 in advance or $12 at the door.

Admission tickets are available at West Pierce Liquors, on West Pierce Street, or at the Hainline Theatre Box Office in WIU's Browne Hall. Tickets for tasting the various beers will be sold separately at the event for six for $5.

All participants must be at least 21 years old to enter the event.

Beerfest partners are West Pierce Liquors, The Forum, Jimmy Johns and MarketPlace Selections of Peoria.

Money raised by the PAS helps bring more than 6,000 children to campus for live performing arts events each year, including paying for their transportation to WIU. PAS also funds scholarships for junior high and high school students to attend the WIU Summer Music Institute and supports BCA to bring live arts events to the community at reasonable ticket prices.
