Western Illinois University Supply Chain Management Day Sept. 10

MACOMB, IL - - Western Illinois University's College of Business and Technology will host a Supply Chain Management (SCM) Day Wednesday, Sept. 10.

The event fosters interaction between employers, current and prospective SCM majors and WIU faculty and staff.

The schedule of events is as follows:

Advisory Board meeting: 8-11 a.m., Stipes Hall, room 501

Lunch/set-up: 11 a.m-noon, Spencer Recreation Center MAC Gym conference room

SCM career fair: Noon- 4:45 p.m., Spencer Recreation Center MAC Gym

Dinner with employer representatives, students and faculty: 5 p.m., University Union Lamoine Room

The event is expecting to bring in more than 20 different employers recruiting students for internships and possible future full-time positions.

The keynote speaker, Mark D. Schweitzer, is the managing director of Intermodal and International Freight at Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) Company. He was appointed this position in 2008. Before this position, Schweitzer advanced through various ADM management responsibilities within grain merchandising, North America oilseed processing, North American warehousing, oilseed and energy risk management. Schweitzer has gained more than 20 years of experience in risk management and customer relations. He earned his bachelor's degree from Ohio State University, master's degree in business administration from Indiana Wesleyan University and executive management development from Harvard.
