WIU Announces Move-In Schedule

MACOMB, IL - Western Illinois University's Move-In Weekend activities will begin a day earlier this year, formally kicking off Friday, Aug. 22. This year's schedule is as follows:

Friday, Aug. 22
8 a.m. – Residence hall move-in begins
4:30-5:30 p.m. – Minority Student Reception, Multicultural Center
6-6:45 p.m. – New Student Convocation, Western Hall
6:45-7:30 p.m. – President's Family Picnic, Campus Mall, southwest of the Spencer Student Recreation Center
8 p.m. – Floor Connection, residence halls
8 p.m. – Rocky After Dark: First Night Fun, Hanson Field

Saturday, Aug. 23
9 a.m. – Class of 2018 photo, McKee Stadium (softball field)
10:30 a.m. – Meet the Majors, various locations
10:30 a.m. – Explore the Majors
11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. – Lunch, Campus Mall, southwest of the Spencer Student Recreation Center
1:30-2:30 p.m. – Leatherneck Legacy, Western Hall
6 p.m. – North Quad Block Party, North Quad
8:30 p.m. – David Hall, University Union Grand Ballroom

Sunday, Aug. 24
2-3 p.m. and 3:30-4:30 p.m. – "Where Are My Classes?" - multiple locations
4:30-6 p.m. – Commuter/Transfer Orientation – University Union Capitol Room
4:30-6 p.m. – Hall dinner
7-8:30 p.m. – Floor meetings
Dusk – Movie on the Lawn - "Godzilla" - Currens lawn (rain: University Union Sandburg Theatre)

Offices will be open Friday, Aug. 22 (closed on Saturday and Sunday). Select student services offices will be open Saturday from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Classes will begin at 8 a.m. Monday, Aug. 25. Activities and events will continue to take place around campus throughout the first two weeks of classes.

With road construction on Western Avenue, students moving into the Corbin/Olson residence halls are encouraged to enter campus from Adams Street.
