Macomb's Fourth of July Celebration Planned at Hanson Field

MACOMB, IL – Western Illinois University's Hanson Field will once again be home to the city of Macomb's annual Fourth of July Celebration and fireworks display Friday, July 4.

Hanson Field will open at 6 p.m. for entertainment prior to the fireworks, including:

  • 6:30–7 p.m. – Singing by Professor Alphonso Simpson from the WIU Department of African American Studies
  • 7-7:30 p.m. – Performance by Jayme Larson's Dance Academy's Suzie Q's
  • 7:45 p.m. – Presentation of the colors by the Macomb American Legion and VFW Post #1921
  • 8 p.m. – The Macomb Municipal Band will perform until the fireworks display, which begins at dusk (approximately 9 p.m.)

In case of rain, the fireworks will be held Saturday, July 5.
