MACOMB, IL – The final two exhibits of the semester at the Western Illinois University Art Gallery will open Saturday and include works by numerous WIU students.

The first floor of the gallery will then feature the work of bachelor of fine arts senior Tanisha Wisslead, of LaHarpe. Her display, "What I Like," is part of the completion of her degree at WIU.

The gallery's second floor will display the Annual Juried Student Exhibition. About 100 WIU students, from varying majors, submitted their work to the gallery to be considered for the show. WIU Professor Emeritus Sam Parker, who served as the show's juror, chose 31 of the pieces to be part of the exhibit.

The works included in the show are from a variety of mediums. WIU emeriti faculty members Bill and Jo Sanders have contributed $500 for scholarship and cash awards for the show. Parker also donated his juror's honorarium back to the show to provide additional prize money.

A reception for both exhibits will be held from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 29. Parker will speak at 5 p.m. and Wisslead will speak shortly after.
