PAS Awards Set for May 6

MACOMB, IL – The 2014 annual Performing Arts Society (PAS) Recognition Banquet and Awards Program will be held in the University Union at Western Illinois University Tuesday, May 6.

A social time begins at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner and a program. A series of awards will be given out during the program.

Honorees this year include:

• The William E. Brattain Distinguished Service Award will be presented to Illinois Arts Council Chair Shirley Madigan. The award is given for significant contributions and support of the arts in the community and is named for former WIU Associate Vice President for Student Services William E. Brattain.

• The Ruth Watts Distinguished Service Award will be presented to Maria Dunstan and Lori Bilbrey. The award recognizes significant contributions and special service to the PAS.

• The Community Service Award will be presented to the Al Sears Jazz Festival. The award is presented for significant and outstanding contributions to the arts in the community.

• The Corporate Salute Award will be given to the Pella Corporation. The award recognizes significant corporate support for arts in the community.

The program will also recognize new and retiring PAS board members. Retiring members are Erika Greer-Aurelio and Larry Aurelio, Curt and Lori Bilbrey, Diane Cumbie, Tom and Maria Dunstan and Bill and Cricket Howard. New board members include Trent and Amber Patrick, Scott and Ann Urch, Larry and Julie Ann Pickett, Jim and Theresa DiTulio and Dave and Stacey Macchi.
