MACOMB, IL – Huntley Consolidated High School senior Zoe Detlaf, of Huntley (IL), has been selected for Western Illinois University's Centennial Honors Scholarship, which covers four years of tuition, fees and a residence hall room at the school.

High school students with an ACT score of 32 or higher and a grade point average of 3.5 or higher are eligible for the scholarship.

Detlaf said she is considering majoring in acting and Spanish, with a teaching certification. She became interested in Western based on its theatre program.

"The more I looked into it, the more I realized it seemed like the perfect fit for me," she said.

At Western, Detlaf would like to participate in as many of the theatrical productions as possible.

In high school, Detlaf participated in marching band, plays/musicals, National Honor Society and vocal, piano, flute and dance lessons.

After graduation from WIU, she plans to enter the teaching profession and possibly audition for stage and screen productions on breaks from school.
