Senior Olympics Set for April 25-26 at WIU

MACOMB, IL — Western Illinois University invites area senior citizens to participate in the 2014 Western Illinois Senior Olympics Friday-Saturday, April 25-26 on the WIU-Macomb campus.

The Senior Olympics provides participants the opportunity to test skills in a competitive arena that will recognize them for preparation, performance and continued desire to lead a healthy lifestyle. Awards will be given to participants who finish in first, second and third place in each category.

The entry fee is $5 per event. If a participant would like to enter in two or more events, the entry fee is $10. T-shirts can be purchased for $10 or a polo shirt for $18.

Athletes must provide their own athletic equipment that must reach NSGA standards. More information about events, parking, food and housing can be found at wiu.edu/seniorolympics/.

The deadline for entries is Friday, April 18. If participants want a t-shirt, registration must be made by Monday, April 14. For more information, contact Jim Miner at (309) 8333-4050.
