Stony Brook Professor to Speak at WIU March 18

MACOMB, IL – Professor Pradeep Dubey, of the State University of New York, Stony Brook, will speak at Western Illinois University Tuesday, March 18 in the Multicultural Center.

The talk, titled "Game Theory, Economics, and Matching Between Donors and Recipients of Organs," begins at 3:30 p.m. The event is open free to the public and refreshments will be served.

Dubey also holds a visiting teaching position at Yale University and is a Fellow of Econometric Society and a member of the Council of Game Theory Society. He is described as a "path-breaking scholar with scientific publications in areas including game theory, economics, social and behavioral sciences, operations research and mathematical programming." He has also published in numerous academic journals.

The lecture is sponsored by the WIU Office of Student Activities and the University's Visiting Lectures Committee.

The event is coordinated by the Centennial Honors College, the Math Club, Econ Student Association and the Computer Science Association, as well as the departments of mathematics, economics and decision sciences and computer science.
