Employment Programming for Veterans Scheduled for March 4 at WIU

MACOMB, IL – A program designed to help veterans translate their service, education and experience into employment opportunities will be held at Western Illinois University Tuesday, March 4.

"Setting up Strategic Assets: Veterans Bridge to Employment" runs from 1-4 p.m. in the University Union Grand Ballroom.

The event will bring together veterans, employers, public and private organizations and community leaders to bring awareness to the value of hiring veterans. The first segment will include a panel discussion with veterans who have graduated from college and transitioned into the workforce. Student veterans will then be able to connect with prospective employers for a networking opportunity.

The event is sponsored by the state of Illinois, Department of Veterans Affairs and a variety of other military-related organizations and foundations.

Veterans, service members, employers, community agencies and public organizations from Galesburg, Canton, Springfield, Decatur, Peoria and the Quad Cities will attend.
