MACOMB, IL – Azariah Academy Home School Senior Cora English, of Bushnell, IL, has been selected for Western Illinois University's Centennial Honors Scholarship, which covers four years of tuition, fees and a residence hall room at the school.

High school students with an ACT score of 32 or higher and a grade point average of 3.5 or higher are eligible for the scholarship.

English said she will likely major in broadcasting at Western.

"Western was an easy choice for its proximity to home and manageable price; however, the deciding factor was the academic stamina," English said. "I look forward to the broadcasting program because of the in-depth, hands-on education and experience it offers."

At Western, English said she hopes to participate in the student-run campus radio station and become part of the news programming for students.

Throughout high school, English was involved with her church and in 4-H.

After graduation from WIU, English plans to pursue a career in broadcasting or film.
