MACOMB, IL -- United Health Care representatives and Central Management System representatives will host a series of open enrollment meetings throughout the state, including in Macomb, regarding state retiree health plans for Medicare A & B Eligible State Retirees/Dependents.

The Macomb meetings will be held from 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Thursday Nov. 21 at Wesley United Methodist Church, 1212 W. Calhoun St. The Macomb sessions are co-sponsored by WIU, Rep. Norine Hammond and Sen. John Sullivan.

State retirees (and their dependents) that are enrolled in Medicare A & B, including Western Illinois University retirees, are encouraged to attend one of the sessions to learn of state retiree health plan changes taking place Feb. 1, 2014. The open enrollment period runs Nov. 12 through Dec. 13. Failure to enroll will terminate benefits Jan. 31, 2014. The next opportunity to enroll will be Fall 2014. Members of the Teacher Retirement Insurance Program (TRIP) and College Insurance Program (CIP) who miss the enrollment deadline will not be allowed back into the state system.

Additional Nov. 21 sessions include: Yorkville, IL - 9:30 a.m., Beecher Center, 908 Game Farm Road (sponsored by Rep. Kay Hatcher); and New Lenox, IL - 4 p.m., Lincoln-Way Central High School, 1801 E. Lincoln Highway (sponsored by Lincoln-Way School District No. 210).

Friday, Nov. 22 sessions, at 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., include: Jacksonville, IL - Hamilton's Banquet Hall, 110 N. East St. (sponsored by Rep. C.D. Davidsmeyer); and Quincy, IL - John Wood Community College, Mary Ellen Orr Auditorium (Building D), 1301 S. 48th St. (sponsored by Sen. John Sullivan).
