MACOMB, IL – The Community-University Partnership Program (CUPP) will hold its eighth annual Welcome Back Party from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4 on the front lawn of Sherman Hall. The event, which is open free to the public, will feature music, food, games and prizes.

"We are pleased to once again to partner with the City of Macomb," said WIU President Jack Thomas. "The party is a great opportunity for individuals to learn more about the University and the services available in Macomb."

An informational table fair with approximately 40 participating local businesses will also be part of the event.

"Macomb residents and members of the WIU community are encouraged to come out for an evening of fun, food and getting acquainted," said Macomb Mayor Mike Inman.

The CUPP organization, comprised of University and community representatives, was formed to promote relations between the college and the community. CUPP meets several times a year to discuss topics of importance to both communities.

In case of rain, the event will be moved to the University Union Grand Ballroom.
