MACOMB, IL -- Monte Colley, assistant director of Western Illinois University Facilities Management, has been named associate director.

According to Scott Coker, director of Facilities Management, moving Colley to the associate director's position has allowed Facilities Management to reduce two administrative positions (one assistant director and one building services superintendent) to further streamline processes and reduce the personnel budget.

Colley had served as the assistant director since January 2009. Previously he had served as the interim assistant director since March 2010. He started at Western in March 2009 as a mechanical engineer II, and was promoted to mechanical engineer III in March 2010. He was appointed senior engineer in March 2011.

In addition to his current duties overseeing mechanical maintenance, which includes campus heating and cooling systems, fire protection, kitchen equipment, plumbing and the Heating Plant, as associate director Colley oversees building services, landscape maintenance, sustainability and facilities planning and construction.
