WIU Twitter Contest: Show How You "Think Purple" and Practice Core Values; $400 Bookstore Gift Certificate Grand Prize
March 25, 2013
MACOMB, IL – "Think Purple" can mean different things for different people, but at Western Illinois University, one of the phrase's many meanings is how the institution and its students practice the University's core values of academic excellence, educational opportunity, personal growth and/or social responsibility.
To showcase how students at Western "Think Purple," beginning Monday, April 1, University Relations and Undergraduate Admissions are sponsoring a Think Purple/Core Values Twitter contest.
Every week, students who tweet or share a photo on Twitter—i.e., content that demonstrates how they "Think Purple" and practice the University's Core Values (academic excellence, educational opportunity, personal growth and/or social responsibility)—will be entered into a weekly drawing. All entries must be posted on Twitter with the hashtags: #ThinkPurple #CoreValues
The winner of the weekly drawing will win $20 worth of gear from the WIU Bookstore, courtesy of University Relations. Those who enter the weekly contest will be eligible to win a grand prize, a $400 gift certificate—courtesy of Undergraduate Admissions—to the WIU Bookstore, which will be awarded Tuesday, May 7.
Weekly winners will be posted on Twitter @WIUThinkPurple (twitter.com/WIUThinkPurple) and on WIU's Facebook Page (facebook.com/wiu.edu). Only currently enrolled WIU students are eligible. Weekly drawing winners and the grand prize winner will be contacted via direct message to their individual Twitter accounts.
