MACOMB, IL -- The Western Illinois University Board of Trustees will consider bids for phase one (heating/ventilation, technology, fire protection and improvements to ceilings, walls and floors) of the University Union renovations and will consider the discontinuation of the self-insured student health insurance program at its Friday, March 29 meeting in the University Union Capitol Rooms on the WIU-Macomb campus.

The WIU Board meeting will begin at 8 a.m. with a scheduled executive session in accordance with the provisions of the Open Meetings Act. The open meeting will resume at approximately 9 a.m., following the executive session.

Other items on the agenda for consideration include the first readings of changes to benefits for coaches and employee benefits (sick leave). The board will also hear updates on financial aid programs, the Quad Cities Graduate Study Center and long-term planning.

The next Board of Trustees meeting will be held June 7 at the WIU-QC Riverfront campus in Moline.
