The Fred Ewing Case & Lola Austin Case Writer-in-Residence

MACOMB, IL – Poet Kim Addonizio has been named the Spring 2013 Fred Ewing Case and Lola Austin Case Writer-in-Residence at Western Illinois University.

Addonizio will be on campus Wednesday, March 27 and Thursday, March 28 for several presentations and to meet with students.

An interview and question and answer session with Addonizio will be held from 4-5 p.m. Wednesday, March 27 in Simpkins Hall, room 27. She will then read from her collection of poetry, "Lucifer at the Starlight," from 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday, March 28, in the Sherman Hall Auditorium, third floor.

Addonizio has been termed, "one of our nation's most provocative and edgy poets," with her latest novel, "Lucifer at the Starlight," being named a finalist for the Poets Prize and the Northern California Book Award. Her collection of poetry, "Tell Me," was a National Book Award finalist.

The Fred Ewing Case and Lola Austin Case Writer-in-Residence supports bringing national writers of poetry and fiction to Western each year. The writers teach workshops and seminars for creative writing students and conduct readings of their work.
