In Like a Lion... Men's Basketball Summit League Regular Season Champs via March 2 Victory

MACOMB, IL — The 5,000+ crowd at Western Hall Saturday night erupted into exuberant cheers as the Western Illinois men's basketball team defeated the South Dakota Coyotes, 61-59, in dramatic fashion, earning a share of The Summit League's regular season title for the first time in 30 years.

At the March 2 game, the Fighting Leathernecks picked up their 21st win this year — the most ever in the program's NCAA Division I era — and brought Western roaring into the much-anticipated month of March like a lion.
