MOLINE, IL – The Western Illinois University-Quad Cities community will now have the opportunity to work side-by-side with senior volunteers from RSVP of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois thanks to a new partnership agreement.

"We're excited about this new partnership and all of the opportunities it brings for the students, faculty, staff and community leaders," said Joe Rives, WIU vice president of the Quad Cities and planning. "This deepens, and greatly enriches, our commitment to social responsibility, volunteerism and lifelong learning. The partnership is a wonderful opportunity for the campus community and volunteers to learn and benefit from one another."

RSVP volunteers will have the opportunity to assist with tutoring, class presentations, event management and other responsibilities that match volunteer interests.

"We are delighted to partner with WIU-QC so we can share our volunteers' skills and talents with the University community," said Dave Layton, RSVP executive director.

RSVP works with men and women, 55 years of age or older, and community groups to promote and increase volunteerism and the potential for making a difference in the lives of people and communities.

"We are so appreciative for the volunteers who represent the fabric of our community and we welcome them to our Quad Cities campus," Rives added.
