MACOMB, IL – Anita Sells, a human resources associate level two, has been named the Western Illinois University Al & Elaine Goldfarb Civil Service Employee of the Month for February.

Sells was hired March 6, 2006, as a human resource representative in the office of Human Resources. On June 28, 2007, she was reclassified, per audit, to human resource officer. On Dec. 1, 2007, she was promoted to human resource associate, level one and on Aug. 6, 2012, she received her current position.

According to Sells' nominators, she is an excellent leader and is willing to work as a team with her peers.

"She is encouraging to others and is always willing to sit down and discuss concerns and answer questions," her nominators said. "She is compassionate and patient with everyone she encounters. She always greets others in the hallway and is enthusiastic about assisting those that need assistance. She is a key player in the operation of a department that impacts many employees across the campus."

Sells coordinates various training programs campus-wide.

In August 2010, the Goldfarbs established an endowment to permanently fund the University's Civil Service Employee of the Month award. The Goldfarb endowment is used to fund a $100 award for the recipient of the Civil Service Employee of the Month, as well as a plaque.

Western faculty, staff and administrators, as well as community members, wishing to nominate a civil service employee for this monthly recognition should contact Civil Service Employees Council (CSEC) Public Relations Representative Wendi Mattson at WK-Mattson@wiu.edu.
