MACOMB, IL – Narrow Way Christian Academy senior Jillian Escobar, of Hanover Park, has been selected for Western Illinois University's Centennial Honors Scholarship, which covers four years of tuition, fees and a residence hall room at the school.

High school students with an ACT score of 32 or higher and a grade point average of 3.5 or higher are eligible for the scholarship.

At WIU, Escobar plans to major in music education.
"I selected Western because of its affordability, high academic quality and location," Escobar said. "A student should consider Western because of its well-meaning dedication to its students' futures."

In high school, Escobar volunteered at the Lake Geneva Youth Camp in Wisconsin, was an active leader in the AWANA program at her church and was part of a fencing club.

After college graduation, Escobar plans to attend graduate school to obtain an advanced degree in music education, with a specialization in special education.
