MACOMB, IL – Yorkville Community High School senior Elizabeth Vick, of Yorkville, IL, has been selected for Western Illinois University's Centennial Honors Scholarship, which covers four years of tuition, fees and a residence hall room at the school.

High school students with an ACT score of 32 or higher and a grade point average of 3.5 or higher are eligible for the scholarship.

Vick has not yet decided what her major at WIU will be, but said she was initially attracted to Western because "of its low tuition."

"However, after visiting and further looking into the school, I feel it has a lot to offer me," she said. "I find Western to be a great value. With college tuition rising, many students should be looking into schools like Western."

At Western, Vick said she may pursue some intramural sports.

In high school, Vick was active in track and field.
