Gospel Choir to Perform at WIU Dec. 2

MACOMB, IL – The United Voices of Western Inspirational Singers (OVOWIS), a traditional gospel choir sponsored by the Western Illinois University Department of African American Studies, will present its Fall 2012 concert Sunday, Dec. 2.

The concert begins at 6:30 p.m. in the College of Fine Arts and Communication Recital Hall on the Macomb campus. Doors open at 6 p.m. and admission is free.

UVOWIS is a student organization with membership open to students, faculty, staff and community members who enjoy singing gospel music and the fellowship of the choir.

WIU African American Studies Professor Alphonso Simpson, Jr. is the group's founder and director.
