MACOMB, IL – Western Illinois University Libraries would like to invite members of the WIU, Macomb and surrounding communities to the Atrium Society Donor Recognition Ceremony slated from 4-6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25 in the Garden Lounge of the Leslie F. Malpass Library.

According to University Libraries Development Director Michael Jones, the Library Atrium Society supports the acquisition of educational resources for use by Western students in every academic discipline.

"Membership dollars help fund scholarships, sustain special collections, acquire new materials and equipment and underwrite special events," Jones explained. "The 'Gardener' level ($1,000 and above) membership is the highest level of Atrium Society membership, and we are excited to honor seven individuals who reached that level in 2011-12."

Jones said the event will include light refreshments, a presentation by Malpass Library Nursery Supervisor Rebecca Fross and the dedication of six plants in honor of Felix and Nancy Chu, Elizabeth Kaspar, Don MacVean, Sheila Nollen and David and Phyllis Self.

For more information, contact Jones at (309) 298-2762.
