ASSISTANTSHIP OPPORTUNITY FOR GRADUATE VIOLINISTS


WESTERN ILLINOIS UNIVERSITY, dedicated to diversity and the fine arts, has designated an assistantship for a graduate violinist entering the two-year Master of Music program. The Graduate Assistant will perform will perform alongside faculty in the Julstrom String Quartet and in the University Symphony and Chamber Orchestras.

The faculty quartet members are professors Julieta Mihai, violin, Istvan Szabo, viola, and Moíses Molina, cello. In addition, the student will perform duties as assigned by Dr. Richard Hughey, WIU Director of Orchestral Activites.


Assistantship Award

FULL TUITION WAIVER

  • Tuition waiver (in state): $4272/year
  • Tuition waiver (out-of-state): $8544/year

2/3 Assistantship – 8 Month Contract

  • $587/month stipend, total: $4696/ year
