Western Illinois University, dedicated to diversity and the fine arts, has designated four complete scholarships (tuition, room, and board for eight semesters) to attract national and international string students. These four string players (two violinists, one violist, and one cellist) form the WIU Presidents String Quartet and play in the WIU Symphony Orchestra. Currently there is one viola and one cello opening for fall 2008.
For full consideration, students must apply and be admitted to WIU and the WIU School of Music by March 1, 2008. WIU School of Music Audition Dates
