Strategic Plan: Higher Values in Higher Education
Higher Values in Higher Education is Western Illinois University's Strategic Plan. It is a ten year long-term vision for the University that is updated every five years. The current plan, Higher Values in Higher Education 2008-2018, was endorsed by all campus governance groups on both Western Illinois University campuses and approved for implementation by the Western Illinois University Board of Trustees in academic year 2007-2008.
The Strategic Plan guides daily operations, planning and resource allocation in support of our academic mission and service operations. There are three means by which the University holds itself accountable to advancing the priorities and goals of the University's Strategic Plan: Monthly Strategic Plan Updates are published, annual strategic plan updates are published, and each spring the vice presidents and areas that report to the president provide a summary of annual accomplishments and plans to the campus community.
