African Americans in Jazz

Photo of Louis Armstrong with the text African Americans in Jazz.

The Western Illinois University Music Library is celebrating Black History Month by celebrating the accomplishments of African Americans in jazz music.

Throughout February there will be a display about Louis Armstrong in the carousel at the east entrance to the Leslie F. Malpass Library. Additionally, there will be a display about African American jazz music in the Music Library itself (Sallee Hall 108) featuring books, scores, and recordings. Other materials about jazz music are available on the University Libraries' database page.
