Interlibrary Loan Goes Paperless

Interlibrary Loan goes paperless

Need an item not found among the million-plus volumes housed by the Western Illinois University Libraries? In the past this meant filling out paper forms, but no longer. The interlibrary loan service from University Libraries is now paperless. The service is now offered through a convenient software system called ILLiad, allowing patrons to keep track of requests more conveniently while enabling swifter service. The new online system is also more environmentally sound, leading to less wastepaper. Interlibrary loan service is open to all Western students and employees.

There will be two training sessions for all Western students, faculty, staff, and administrators interested in learning more about how to use ILLiad. These will be held in the Malpass Library, Room LCC2, on March 19, 2008 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. and on March 24, 2008 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. For more information please contact Linda Wade, Interlibrary Loan Coordinator, at 309-298-2761 or LA-Wade@wiu.edu.
