Materials Pickup Procedures

WIU Libraries has reopened (as of August 17) to WIU ID holders ONLY. Due to staff shortages, the following curbside service is now available only for non-affiliated library users (e.g., local citizens/guests); [exception dates for WIU users].

You may now request and arrange for your pickup of WIU Libraries materials (e.g., books, videos -- any item that normally circulates).

Pickup times will vary between libraries. All pickup is Monday through Friday.

Leslie F. Malpass Library

  • Send requests for materials to MalpassCirculation@wiu.edu.  [>> Search Malpass Library materials ]
  • Someone will respond and make an appointment for pickup the next day (Monday-Friday only)
  • Staff will collect the items you request and check them out to you.
    • Pickup procedures:
  • Use the north entrance (toward Stipes) to the Library
  • Call 309-298-2705 to let staff know you are there
  • Someone will bring your materials to the entrance in a bag
  • Show your WIU ID (required) and you can pick up the bag.

    Digital Commons (Malpass Equipment Checkout)

  • Request equipment by calling 309-298-2758 or e-mailing Chet Derry at CE-Derry@wiu.edu.  [>> View Equipment List ]
  • Staff will respond and make an appointment and arrangements for pickup
  • WIU ID is required for pickup.

    Curriculum Library

  • Send requests for materials to David Macchi at DJ-Macchi@wiu.edu or call 309-298-1101.  [>> Search Curriculum Library materials ]
  • David will respond and make an appointment and arrangements for pickup, since the location may vary
  • Staff will collect the items you request and check them out to you
  • WIU ID is required for pickup.

  • Sandra will respond and make an appointment for pickup
  • Staff will collect the items you request and check them out to you.
    • Pickup procedures:
  • At the Music Library entrance, call 309-298-1105 to let staff know you are there
  • Show your WIU ID (required)
  • Materials will be bagged and handed over.

  • Staff will collect the items you request and check them out to you.

  • Use the outside (west) entrance to the Library
  • Call 309-762-1598 to let staff know you are there
  • Someone will bring your materials to the entrance in a bag
  • Show your WIU ID (required) and you can pick up the bag.
