Center for International Studies
Telephone and Fax Services
Mobile Phone Service
There are two kinds of mobile phone services, they are called "contract" and "pay-as-you-go."
Contracts are legal agreements to use the phone service for two years. If you break the agreement, you must pay a lot of money. Also, you will need a social security number.
Pay-as-you-go means that you buy a phone card each month with a certain amount of money.
Because international calls vary by country, it is best to contact someone from your country before you arrive to find out what they suggest.
The Center for International Studies fax number is 309-298-2405. If you need to send a fax from outside the United States, dial the same as if you were going to make a phone call. If you need to fax documents to your country while you are in Macomb, there is a fax machine for students to use in the WESTEL Office. It is Sherman Hall 22. Please contact the WESTEL Office for more information and rates charged based on area (country) called.
