Center for International Studies

Spring 2013 New International Student Orientation Schedule (updated 12/17/12)

Here is some important information about the orientation:

*While many of the activities during the orientation are voluntary, some are mandatory – meaning you must attend!  All new students MUST ATTEND the orientation activities that appear in this booklet in bold print and underlined.  If an activity is not in bold print and underlined, attendance is optional but highly recommended.

*The first orientation activity everyone needs to attend is one of the “Check-In” sessions.  There are many different Check-Ins scheduled.  Once you complete your all check-in tasks, you do not need to attend any other Check-ins.

*Transportation is available to many of the orientation activities, but not all.  For each activity in this schedule, there is either a location or pick-up location given.  If the description says “Go to…” that means there is no transportation and you must go to that location on your own.  If it says “Pickup will be at…” it means that vans will pick you up at those locations to take you to the activity.

*Temporary housing will be at America’s Best Value Inn. The cost is $45 per night, no reservations necessary

*If you are in temporary housing and need help moving into your permanent home at any time during the week, please call Bri to set up a move out time.

*Orientation week is the only time that Center for International Studies staff will be able to help you with airport pickups, shopping and bank trips, and moving.  Please make sure to make arrangements for all these activities during the orientation week.
