Admission Requirements

Select your level of study:

New College Freshman: Students who have not taken college classes after completing high school apply for an undergraduate degree.

Transfer Students: Students who have taken college classes after high school but have not earned the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor's degree apply for an undergraduate degree. Learn about earning undergraduate transfer credits.

Graduate StudentsStudents who have earned the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor's degree apply for a graduate or second bachelor's degree.

English Language Training (WESL): Students applying for the intensive English language program.

To Apply for Fall (August)

  • February 1: Application Due
  • April 1: Application materials due (Transcripts, test scores, all other requested documents)
  • July 5: Financial documents due

For Spring (January)

  • July 1: Submit application by this date
  • September 1: Application materials due (Transcripts, test scores, all other requested documents)
  • November 30: Financial documents due

For Summer (June)

  • January 15: Submit application by this date
  • March 1: Application materials due (Transcripts, test scores, all other requested documents)
  • April 15: Financial documents due
  • PLEASE NOTE :  Graduate students should apply for  fall or spring intake.  WIU summer courses are online. Due to visa regulations, international students on campus are allowed to take only one online course. If students wish to enroll for summer they must take online summer courses from home.  If you wish to do so, please indicate this in the Comments section of the application.   Graduate student applications for summer intake will be deferred to fall intake unless otherwise noted.
