Additional Information:A background in Mechanical Engineering is preferred, but all credentials in engineering will be considered. Completed applications, resumes and transcripts must be received by the WIU Human Resource Office by 4:30 pm on Wednesday, February 6, 2013. Responsibilities: Overall responsibility for the mechanical and utility systems on the campus. The Successful candidate will be responsible for designing and overseeing; Heating and cooling, steam, chilled water and plumbing and piping systems on campus. The applicant has to be comfortable with new and upcoming technology to work with the variety of systems on campus. The University has made a commitment to install the latest building HVAC control systems. This system allows remote monitoring and control of the heating and cooling systems across campus. The selected applicant will have the opportunity to manage multimillion dollar construction projects including steam line and tunnel installations, gas boiler rebuilds and chiller replacements. The Mechanical Engineer will work with the campus Electrical Engineer and Facilities Planning and Construction Assistant Director to plan future utilities and mechanical/electrical systems on campus. To complete this planning the successful candidate will become familiar with the existing campus and keep up to date with new technology outside the University.
