Civil Service Employee of the Year 2001 - Judy Thompson

Judy Thompson, a secretary in the law enforcement and justice administration department at Western Illinois University from Plymouth, was awarded the first Sharp Watts Copy Systems Civil Service Employee of the Year Award. Thompson was selected from a group of Employee of the Month recipients for 2001. She was the October 2001 Employee of the Month.

Thompson was cited for her positive and energetic work ethic. She has helped in grant acquisition, as well as developing brochures used in marketing and the recruitment of prospective students. Thompson is a member of the Plymouth "Build a Ball Diamond" committee and a member of the Triangle Hunting Club, whose main goal is to promote youth education and involvement in wildlife activities.

The Employee of the Year Award was established by the Sharp Watts Copy Systems and the Civil Service Employee Council to honor an employee who goes above and beyond their normal job duties in demonstrating enthusiasm, effort and excellence in job performance.

As the 2001 Sharp Watts Copy Services Civil Systems Employee of the Year, Thompson will have her name engraved on a perpetual plaque located in the Human Resources Office. She also received a $500 Chamber of Commerce Gift Certificate and a plaque.
