WIU HR Announces Service Award Winners
The Western Illinois University Office of Human Resources has announced the University's 2018 Community Service and Distinguished Service award winners.
Another Record Breaking Year for The Western Challenge
The results are in! Leatherneck pride was in full force April 24, as Western Illinois University hosted the annual Western Challenge on Purple & Gold Day. The 24-hour online giving event set a record, raising $153,679 with 851 donors. The gifts surpassed last year's total by $19,697.
Veterans and Service Members Honored for Academic Success and Leadership
Numerous Western Illinois University veterans and service members were honored for their academic success, student involvement and leadership during a ceremony April 14, including student induction into the WIU chapter of SALUTE, the national veterans honor society.
WIU FYE Program Honors Those Who Help Students
The Western Illinois University First Year Experience (FYE) program held its annual recognition ceremony April 16 to honor WIU employees who help students make the transition to college life.
WIU DRC Honors Faculty for Disability Access in the Classroom
The Disability Resource Center (DRC) at Western Illinois University celebrated WIU faculty members' contributions to disability access in the classroom at the annual Faculty Appreciation Luncheon and Awards Ceremony Friday, April 20.
WIU Spring Art Sale
The Western Illinois University Department of Art will host its annual Spring Art Sale from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Wednesday, May 7-9 in the University Union Brattain Lounge.
Erskine Smith Retirement Reception Set for May 10
A retirement reception honoring Erskine Smith, dean of the Western Illinois University College of Education and Human Services (COEHS), will be held from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday, May 10 in Knoblauch Hall, room 239.
WIU, UPI Local 4100 Joint Release
From WIU Contract Administrator Russ Morgan and UPI Local 4100 Chief Negotiator Dana Lindemann
Following the April 23 mediation session, Western Illinois University and the University Professionals of Illinois Local 4100 are able to report that the two groups are close to reaching a tentative agreement, subject to finalizing the specific language contained within the new contract. Details will not be disclosed until the final language has been approved by both sides.
Benefits Choice Sessions
The Benefits Office will hold Benefits Choice sessions Wednesday, May 2 and Wednesday, May 9 in the Capitol Rooms of the University Union. Sessions will being at 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. both days. Major changes are not anticipated, but if you would like to be updated, please plan to attend.
