WIU School of Graduate Studies Hosting Informational Seminars
The Western Illinois University School of Graduate Studies will offer a series of seminars for anyone interested in pursuing a master's degree, a post-baccalaureate certificate or taking a few graduate courses as a non-degree student.
WIU: Military Times "Best for Vets College" 2019
For the ninth consecutive year, Western Illinois University has been selected as a Military Times "Best for Vets College" by Military Times magazine. Western is the only Illinois public four-year university in the top 80 among four-year schools and is one of two Illinois public universities appearing on this year's four-year schools' top 100 list.
Update: Voluntary Retirement Program 2018
Western Illinois University continues to face economic challenges, and as part of a multi-faceted approach to save our resources and to address our fiscal reality, Western will again implement a voluntary program for qualified faculty and staff who are retirement-eligible according to the State Universities Retirement System (SURS).
Dia de los Muertos Celebrated at WIU Nov. 2
Casa Latina at Western Illinois University will celebrate Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2 at the Multicultural Center.
Sock Monkey Saturdays at the University Art Gallery
Western Illinois University invites children and their parents or caregivers to participate in "Sock Monkey Saturdays" from 10:30 a.m. - noon Saturday, Oct. 27 and Dec. 1 in the University Art Gallery.
'A Taste of India' Benefits International Education Scholarships at WIU
The Western Illinois University chapter of Phi Beta Delta, the international honor society, will host its annual scholarship dinner themed, "A Taste of India," at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3 at the Campus Students for Christ house, 1545 Riverview Dr., Macomb.
First Wednesday Art Program Nov. 7 at WIU
The November "First Wednesday" art program at Western Illinois University will be held from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday Nov. 7 in Garwood Hall, the Heating Plant Annex and the University Art Gallery.
CIS Offering Cultural Simulation Nov. 8
The Center for International Studies will offer the cultural simulation, "Acirema," to Western Illinois University students, faculty and staff at 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8 in the Sherman Hall third floor auditorium.
Cultural Café - Switzerland
Western Illinois University's Center for International Studies (CIS) will host Cultural Café-Switzerland at noon Monday, Nov. 5 in the University Union Heritage Room.

Western Illinois University will celebrate Military Appreciation Week Monday-Sunday, Nov. 5-11.
International Education Week Celebrated in November at WIU
International Education Week (IEW) is typically celebrated nationally from Monday-Friday, Nov. 12-16, but this year Western Illinois University will celebrate with a series of activities for two weeks in November.

Lights up in London!
As part of the new Community Expeditions offerings from the Office of Study Abroad and Outreach, community members are invited to be among the first to join WIU President Emeritus Al Goldfarb and Kim McDaniel, Study Abroad and Outreach, on the inaugural London Community Theatre trip, March 9-17, 2019.
The trip will include tickets to productions, a bus tour of London and at least one visit outside the city. There will also be free time to explore and visit famous landmarks and museums.
