WIU, Carl Sandburg College Sign Honors Agreement

Honors students at Carl Sandburg College will have the opportunity to continue their honors-level curriculum at Western Illinois University and graduate with University Honors, following the signing of an honors articulation agreement between the two institutions.

Women In Science Program Strives to Improve Retention

The College of Arts and Sciences is developing a new program to provide encouragement for women studying in science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM) fields through Western's academic programs.

DRC Held Faculty Appreciation Luncheon

The Disability Resource Center (DRC) celebrated WIU faculty members' contributions to disability access in the classroom at the inaugural Faculty Appreciation Luncheon and Awards Ceremony Thursday, March 12.

Board Approves Cost Guarantee Increase for New Students

The Western Illinois University Board of Trustees approved a 1.72 percent increase in the University's Cost Guarantee (all costs: tuition, fees and room and board) for new undergraduates and a 1.69 percent increase for new graduate students entering the WIU-Macomb campus in Fall 2015 at its March 27 meeting.


Mini Golf Fundraiser April 4 to Benefit BBBS

The Western Illinois University Veterans Club and Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of Warren and McDonough Counties will host a miniature golf fundraiser from noon-3 p.m. Saturday, April 4 in Brophy Hall.

"Geology of Gold" Lecture April 8

Department of Geology Professor Kyle Mayborn will present "The Geology of Gold" at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 8 at the Leslie F. Malpass Library Garden Lounge.

Art Gallery to Host April 9 Garden Party

A garden party will be held from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 9 at the Western Illinois University Art Gallery to offer members of the University and Macomb communities a chance to see the current exhibit, "Prints and Drawings from the Permanent Collection."

Libraries' "Finding Your Ancestors" Presentation April 9

Western Illinois University Libraries will sponsor the presentation "Finding Your Ancestors" at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 9 in the Leslie F. Malpass Library, second-floor classroom.
