Annual WIU Holiday Festival of Choirs Saturday, Dec. 5

Western Illinois University Choirs will present its annual Holiday Festival of Choirs for the Macomb and WIU communities Saturday, Dec. 5 at St. Paul Catholic Church, 309 W. Jackson St., Macomb.

A matinee concert will begin at 2 p.m., and the evening concert will begin at 7:30 p.m.


Angel Tree Giving Tree Available at University Union

Western Illinois University's volunteer services and Western's All Volunteer Effort (WAVE) are providing students, faculty and Macomb community members the opportunity to donate gifts to children in need this holiday.

Those interested in helping can pick up an angel tag from the Angel Tree in the University Union Concourse.


Sherman Hall Holiday Concert Dec. 9

Members of the Western Illinois University community are invited to attend a holiday luncheon and concert featuring the WIU Camerata Woodwind Quintet Wednesday, Dec. 9 in the Sherman Hall third floor auditorium.

A deli buffet luncheon is available for $10/person, beginning at 11:30 a.m. Seating is limited (15 tables available); reservations must be made by Monday, Dec. 7. The concert, which is open free to the public, will begin at noon. Theatre-style seating will be available for the concert.


Col. Rock III Calendar Available at University Bookstore

The holidays are right around the corner, and if you're looking for unique and classic gift ideas, look no further than the Western Illinois University Bookstore for the 2016 Col. Rock III calendar and the limited edition Rock Hanson Vintage Collection. Items from the Hanson Collection feature Western's logos from 1926 through 1964.

From glassware to apparel, there are items in the Hanson Collection for every WIU fan, and keeping with the "Rock holiday theme," the 2016 Col. Rock calendar features 12 months of Western's adorable mascot. The items can be found at and, respectively.


Winter DanceWorks Concert Dec. 3-6 at Western

Western Illinois University's annual Winter DanceWorks Concert will offer an evening of dance, choreographed by students and instructors in University Dance Theatre (UDT), at 7:30 p.m. in Hainline Theatre Thursday-Saturday, Dec. 3-5, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6.

Each performance will incorporate a variety of dance styles, including modern/contemporary, jazz and Afro-modern. In this concert, guest artist, faculty and student pieces will be featured.
