Princeton Review: WIU "Best in the Midwest"
Western Illinois University's top ranking by The Princeton Review has reached a milestone this year. The 2015 ranking as a "Best Midwestern College" marks 10 years that Western has been named to The Princeton Review list.
WIU Welcomes Visiting Scholars from Shanghai Donghai Vocational Technical College
Five visiting scholars from Shanghai Donghai Vocational Technical College in China are joining the ranks of faculty in the colleges of Fine Arts and Communication and Business and Technology at Western Illinois University for Fall 2014 as part of a partnership between the two schools.

The Community Music School at Western Illinois University is offering a variety of musical opportunities for students of all ages.
CUPP Welcome Back Party Sept. 10
The Community-University Partnership Program (CUPP) will hold its ninth annual Welcome Back Party from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10 on the front lawn of Sherman Hall. The event, which is open free to the public, will feature music, food, games and prizes.
Jazz Singer Amy Yassinger Opens Celebration Concert Series Sept. 12
Tri States Public Radio will present Chicago Jazz artist Amy Yassinger at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12 at The Box in Galesburg.
Rick Springfield Performs Sept. 13
Rick Springfield, rocker, author and actor, will visit Western Illinois University as part of the school's annual Family Day celebration Saturday, Sept. 13.
WIU Bass Open is Sept. 20
Western Illinois University's bass fishing team will host the WIU Bass Open Sept. 20 at Spring Lake in Macomb.
Israeli Artist Exhibiting at WIU Art Gallery Sept. 25
Israeli-born artist Etty Yaniv is bringing her "Variable States of Suspension" exhibit to the Western Illinois University Art Gallery through Thursday, Sept. 25.

Western Illinois University Multimedia Communications Supervisor Justin Georges, from University Libraries, has been named the Al and Elaine Goldfarb Civil Service Employee of the Month for August.
Rabchuk Named WIU's Hallwas Lecturer
Western Illinois University College of Arts and Sciences Assistant Dean James Rabchuk will deliver the 12th annual John Hallwas Liberal Arts Lecture Wednesday and Thursday, Sept. 10-11.
WIU's Kincaid Receives ITA Award of Honor
Western Illinois University theatre Professor Bill Kincaid has been named the recipient of the 2014 Award of Honor from the Illinois Theatre Association (ITA).
