BOT Approves FY'16 Budget Recommendations
The Board of Trustees approved Fiscal Year 2016 operating budget and capital budget recommendations, as well as the FY'15 All-Funds Budget at its Oct. 3 Board meeting.
Contact WIU Forestry Club to Protect Ash Trees in Macomb Area from Emerald Ash Borer
As a service to the Macomb area community and to raise funds for activities, the WIU Forestry Club will begin treating ash trees this fall to protect them from EAB.

Italian-African filmmaker and social activist Fred Kudjo Kuwornu will visit the Western Illinois University campus Wednesday, Nov. 5, to speak from 7-9 p.m., in the Sandburg Theater.
'Stuff the Bus' Returns to WIU Nov. 5
The seventh annual "Helping Hands Across America Stuff the Bus 2014" food drive will be held from 7 a.m.-10 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5 on Western Illinois University's campus and in Macomb.
WIU Libraries Holding Special Fall Fiction Frenzy Book Sale Nov. 10-13
University Libraries will host a special "Fall Fiction Frenzy" book sale from 11 a.m-5 p.m. each day Monday-Thursday, Nov. 10-13. The sale will take place in the Leslie F. Malpass Library staff lounge, located on the first floor, and is open free to the public.

Western Illinois University staff nurse II Ann Lascelles has been named the Al and Elaine Goldfarb Civil Service Employee of the Month for October.
Grant Enables WIU Ed Faculty Members to Visit Canton (IL) Elementary School to Help Inform Teacher Prep Programs
Last month, a daylong visit to Westview Elementary School in Canton (IL) provided 15 College of Education and Human Services (COEHS) faculty members with the opportunity to observe how Response to Intervention (RtI) principles are put into practice in an elementary school setting.
SECA 2014 Campaign Launched
The Office of Human Resources announced the launch of the annual State and University Combined Appeal (SECA) campaign, which provides employees the opportunity to donate to the charitable cause of their choice. The campaign will be held through Nov. 7.
Honesty Wins Two Theatre Design Awards
Assistant Professor Tammy Honesty has been awarded two prestigious regional theatre awards for her design work on a 2013 show at the Human Race Theatre Company in Dayton, OH.

Retired plumber Hayden Mac Cooper II, 70, passed away Oct. 7.
Kenneth Epperson, 90, retired community college relations director for Admissions, died Oct. 2 in Macomb.
Patti Hutinger, 82, former director of Macomb Projects (later, The Center for Best Practices in Early Childhood Education) and professor of early childhood education, passed away March 26 in Macomb.
Physical education Professor Emeritus Alice Kellogg, 85, died Monday, Sept. 29 in Macomb.
Jerry Markley, 67, a retired television services broadcast engineer, died Oct. 5.
Retired Professor and Administrator Eric Stiffler, 67, passed away Aug. 24 in Macomb.
