Western Illinois University Break Schedule
Western Illinois University's Macomb and Quad Cities campuses will observe winter break with holiday and administrative closure Tuesday, Dec. 24-Wednesday, Jan. 1.
BOT Approves UPI Agreement
The Western Illinois University Board of Trustees voted for a memorandum of understanding with the University Professionals of Illinois (UPI) Local 4100 at its Dec. 13 Board meeting.
WIU-QC Awarded $100,000+ Grant for AmeriCorps School Mentoring Program
WIU-QC has received $106,400 as an "AmeriCorps State Formula" award for the 2013-14 program year.
Admissions Standards Update
Earlier this year, Western Illinois University announced it would increase admissions standards for high school seniors applying for the Fall 2014 semester, and according to Admissions Director Andy Borst, the increased standards are having an impact.
WIU HR Offers Professional Supervisor Training Certificate Program
Current supervisors and future supervisors are invited to participate in the Professional Supervisor Training Certificate Program, hosted by WIU Human Resources office, to brush up on and learn effective supervisory skills.
CPA Review Course Offered at WIU
The Western Illinois University Department of Accountancy, in combination with CPAexcel, will offer a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) review course beginning Friday, Jan. 24.
"A is for Arab" Exhibit Jan. 13
The exhibit, "A is for Arab," will open Monday, Jan. 13 in Western Illinois University's Leslie F. Malpass Library.
Brassfest 2014 - featuring Axiom Brass Jan. 19
The BCA will present the Brassfest headline act, Axiom Brass, at 7:30 p.m. in the COFAC Recital Hall.

Robert A. Fields II, a Parking Services Agent II in the Western Illinois University Office of Public Safety has been named the Al and Elaine Goldfarb Civil Service Employee of the Month for December.
