Provost Welcome Reception

The WIU community are invited to a welcome reception for WIU Provost Ken Hawkinson, hosted by President Jack Thomas, UPI and Faculty Senate, will be held from 4-6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 27 in the University Union Lamoine Room.

Nick Padgett Named 2012 Distinguished Alumnus

Nick Padgett, a 1988 graduate of WIU, is the recipient of the 2012 Distinguished Alumnus Award from the University's College of Business and Technology.


Black History Month

WIU will mark Black History Month 2012 with lectures, discussions and special events, beginning this week.

Book Sale at Malpass Library

University Libraries will host its annual book sale from 10 a.m-6 p.m. each day Feb. 6-9.

'Food and U' Series

Learn how one local restaurant participates in Macomb's local food movement via WIU Libraries' "Food and U" series, noon, Feb. 6.

Film: "Connected"

The film, "Connected: An Autoblogography about Love, Death and Technology," will be shown Feb. 7 at the WIU-QC Riverfront campus and Feb. 8 at the Macomb campus.

Illustrating Uncle Tom, Topsy, and Little Eva: How Children Learned About 'Race' and 'Place'

Professor Jo-Ann Morgan will will review illustrations of the main characters in "Uncle Tom's Cabin," and will look at other children's books at the Figge Museum of Art, Davenport, IA, Feb. 9, 7 p.m.
