Ken Hawkinson has been named provost and academic vice president at WIU, effective Jan. 1, 2012.

Ashley Katz, facilities manager for the University Union, has been named the WIU December Civil Service Employee of the Month.

Jayson Nelson, an employee for Sodexo at the WIU campus, recently received Sodexo’s Presidential Citation in recognition for saving a life.

Thanks to AT&T, Rock Island (IL) High School PACERS (Positive Achievement and Creativity Equals Righteous Success) and WIU-QC continues to benefit from a nearly $375,000 infusion to help at-risk ninth grade students in the Rock Island School District (RISD).

Save the Date - Macomb Campus Master Plan Open Forums
Three firms will be on the WIU-Macomb campus next month as part of the Quality-Based Selection (QBS) process to select a firm to provide an update to the Macomb Campus Master Plan. The plan, which was first completed by Goody Clancy in 2007, is intended to be updated every five years. Goody Clancy and Smith Group JJR will present Jan. 23, while Durant will present Jan. 24. Open forum times and more details will be announced following the holiday break.
