CAREER PREPARATION DAY 2010

Plans are underway for the Department of Communication’s Second Annual Career Preparation Day. All Communication majors and minors are invited to attend this event on Tuesday, February 2, 2010. The purpose of Career Preparation Day is to help prepare communication majors and minors for their career search and future careers. Throughout the day various workshops will be planned that will help majors and minors learn the skills necessary to conduct an effective job search, interview effectively, and learn what resources are available on the WIU campus.

More information and registration forms will be distributed at a later date.

Career Preparation Day is a WIU sanctioned event. This means faculty from other departments may excuse attendance from class so that students can attend Career Preparation Day. Students are expected to work with faculty in their classes to complete all work missed due to this event. It is the student’s responsibility to consult with his/her instructors before the absence to clarify what work must be done for each class and the deadline for completion of the work to the instructor’s satisfaction. The student is responsible for complying with the attendance policy of each instructor.

If you are a Communication major or minor, make sure and put February 2, 2010 on your calendar. This is a day you do not want to miss!
