Bull's Handle Thunder to Stay Undefeated in Preseason
The Chicago Bulls defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder last evening 104-95. The Bulls remain the only team to stay undefeated in preseason ball. Carlos Boozer led the team with 20 points and 13 rebounds. Derrick Rose finished with 26 points and six assists on 6 of 15 shooting. He was also 10 of 10 from the free throw line. Luol Deng also had 20 points and 10 rebounds.
The Thunder played a good game led by Kevin Durant and second year guard Jeremy Lamb who each chipped in 22 points. Lamb is expected to have a larger role this season with Russell Westbrook still out with a knee injury. Serge Ibaka was also given the night off. Durant helped lead a comeback in the third period to give the Thunder a lead of 78-76 but poor shooting and bad positioning on the defensive end gave the Bulls the edge.
Joakim Noah continued his streak of sitting on the bench and being the team cheerleader while shooting guard Jimmy Butler returned to action. Butler chipped in 12 points and continues to build fluency with Rose. The two all-stars Rose and Deng showed extremely vivid chemistry after a poor start to the game. The Bulls out-rebounded the Thunder 46-32 and controlled the tempo of the game.
The Bulls next game is at home Friday against the Denver Nuggets. Former fan favorite Nate Robinson returns to the Madhouse on this fast paced Nuggets squad. The NBA regular season starts October 29 with the Bulls facing the 2012-2013 NBA Champs Miami Heat. Expect the Bulls to play hard after watching Miami raise the championship banner.
